Empowering Maternal Health Research

At Charleata Battle, Incorporated, we are dedicated to improving maternal and infant health by offering specialized doula services for high-risk pregnant individuals. We provide personalized support and guidance throughout their pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum journey. In addition, we offer coordinated, comprehensive, high-quality, and voluntary early education services to eligible families. These services equip families with the knowledge they need to care for c-sections and manage the care of infants who require surgery, wound care, or infection control (such as stitches, sutures, or care for babies born prematurely or with low birth weight due to high-risk pregnancies or emergency c-sections).

We also provide education and support for infants who have undergone surgery or require wound care, whether post-delivery or post-c-section, for both mothers and infants. Our efforts are particularly focused on communities identified as high-risk for poor maternal, infant, and child health outcomes.

Our organization delivers vital healthcare education and human service, specializing in mental health, maternal health, and doula support to improve outcomes for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) birthing individuals across metro Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange County. By addressing systemic disparities and offering culturally competent care, we’re creating healthier futures for underserved communities.
